Bid Manager (Generators)
My client is a leading provider of turnkey power generation solutions and projects. Their full service includes feasibility studies, detailed design, project management, installation, commissioning, ongoing operation and maintenance and finance capabilities. A requirement has been made to recruit a first-class Bid Manager to lead and head up a Bid/Tender Division for Major Projects.
The role reports directly into a General Manager and offers future development potential. The role is an essential high profile position that has been created to effectively grow a division in its own right, specifically revolved around heading up the bid/tender process for major projects above the value of £2 Million. The role will be to strategically direct the Bid Department and manage the division day to day by overseeing a team of Bid Engineers and admin/office staff.
You will need at least 5 years’ relevant Bid Management experience. It is essential that the successful candidate is a specialist in leading bids and putting together successful tenders. It would be ideal but not essential if the candidate came from a Power Generation background. Candidates who had successfully delivered multi-million pound bids from other sectors like defence, construction to industrial for example would be considered. A candidate who is a strong character, highly driven and dynamic is required with a strategic and consultative approach.
You will have to be prepared to cover the UK and occasionally internationally as and when required. In addition, man-management experience is a necessity, as you will look after a team of 10 personnel, who are primarily Bid Engineers. You will need to be a proven leader. High-levels of charisma and business knowledge are absolutely essential.
